Monica Agarwal is a Postdoctoral Fellow at IPR, working with IPR economist Diane Whitmore Schanzenbach and IPR developmental psychologist Terri Sabol.  She is an economist with research interests in the fields of the economics of education, applied microeconomics, and development economics. Her research focuses on understanding how early childhood interventions shape children’s outcomes. Her current research examines the impact of the universal pre-kindergarten expansion in the context of Chicago Public Schools on children’s educational outcomes.  She earned her PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024.
