IPR economist Hannes Schwandt was named to Capital magazine's "40 under 40" in the Society and Science category.
IPR associate and media scholar Stephanie Edgerly received Northwestern's annual Walder Award for her work researching how new media alter the way audiences consume news and impact political engagement.
IPR education sociologist Cynthia Coburn was awarded the Ver Steeg Fellowship, which is given to tenured faculty who have made major research contributions.
IPR social policy expert Tabitha Bonilla, developmental psychologist and IPR associate Claudia Haase, and social policy scholar and IPR associate Quinn Mulroy received 2020 Daniel I. Linzer Grants for Innovation in Diversity and Equity.
IPR social psychologist Mesmin Destin won Northwestern’s Department of Psychology Invaluable Mentorship Award.

IPR statistician Elizabeth Tipton received the Campbell Collaboration’s 2020 Frederick Mosteller Award for “an important contribution to the theory, method, or practice of systematic reviewing.”
More than 30 IPR faculty have been recognized as being among the top 2% most cited academics in their respective fields, according to a database published in PLOS Biology by Stanford University researchers.

Larry Hedges, IPR education researcher and statistician, and co-director of the STEPP Center, was elected a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science.
IPR political scientist Sally Nuamah's book How Girls Achieve was awarded the Critics' Choice Book Award by the American Educational Studies Association.
IPR political scientist Chloe Thurston won the J. David Greenstone Book Award (best book award) from American Political Science Association’s Politics and History section for her book At the Boundaries of Homeownership: Credit, Discrimination, and the American State (Cambridge University Press, 2018).
IPR political scientist Daniel Galvin received the Mary Parker Follett Prize for Best Article for “From Labor Law to Employment Law: The Changing Politics of Workers’ Rights” from American Political Science Association’s Politics and History section.
Psychologist and IPR associate Jennifer Tackett was named an editor of Clinical Psychological Science.

IPR labor economist Kirabo Jackson was honored with the David N. Kershaw Award by the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management, which recognizes distinguished policy research contributions for scholars under 40.

IPR sociologist and African American studies researcher Celeste Watkins-Hayes was awarded the 2020 Distinguished Book Award from the American Sociological Association’s Section on the Sociology of Sex & Gender for Remaking a Life: How Women Living With HIV/AIDS Confront Inequality.
IPR anthropologist Thomas McDade and IPR sociologist Beth Redbird, who were awarded National Science Foundation RAPID grants for COVID-19-related research on antibody testing and for the CoronaData U.S. survey.
IPR faculty emeritus Wesley Skogan was named in the top 25 Most-Cited Still Active Emeritus Scholars by the American Political Science Association. IPR political scientist James Druckman and IPR faculty emeritus Benjamin Page were listed in the top 100 Most-Cited Scholars.

IPR health psychologist Edith Chen, sociologist and African American studies researcher and IPR associate Mary Pattillo, education professor and IPR associate James Spillane, oncofertility specialist and IPR associate Teresa Woodruff, and faculty adjunct Jennifer Richeson were elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Sociologist and IPR associate Héctor Carrillo was named a Guggenheim fellow and a fellow of the American Council of Learned Sciences.

IPR social policy professor and IPR associate Cynthia Coburn and IPR labor and education economist Kirabo Jackson were elected to the National Academy of Education.

Sally Nuamah won in the category Education Practice for her book How Girls Achieve.
